and areas of expertise

What are research lines?

The research lines are the thematic axes that structure all of CurvaJTech's scientific and technological production. It is from these lines that we organize teams, direct investments, and develop projects with focus and depth. Each line originates from the identification of real demands from the Defense, Public Security, and Technical Textile sectors, and evolves throughout the phases of technological maturity—from basic research to the delivery of market-ready solutions. More than just areas of study, they are concrete commitments to generating high-impact national technology.

Research areas

Materials
composites

Development of composite materials consisting of a polymeric or ceramic matrix and a dispersed phase, which may include particles or nanoparticles, textile fibers, and laminates or sandwich panels.

Innovative products are developed for ballistic protection, whether for civilian and/or military use, such as: ballistic vests and plates, automotive, aircraft and vessel armor, helmets, shields, ballistic glass, among others, aiming at weight reduction, increased comfort and protection, and process improvement.

Waste Reuse
and Upcycling

Development of projects focused on the reuse of waste generated in industrial production (pre-consumer) and post-use products, such as vests, body armor, and airbags. Many of these materials are composed of aramid fibers, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), and other high-performance polymers. Because they are valuable materials with high added value, the objective is to reintegrate them into new production cycles, creating sustainable solutions and new products for different industrial sectors.

Clothing
Special Protection

Development of multifunctional suits aimed at protecting the user and ensuring public safety against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) agents, as well as exposure to heat, flames, and extreme cold. Many of these garments are still imported and have supply restrictions to Brazil. The line also includes research and development of intelligent military uniforms, advanced textile systems, and protective covers for ballistic vests.

Advanced
surface modification

Research and development of advanced techniques for modifying and functionalizing polymeric and textile surfaces. The goal is to add specific properties to materials, such as chemical resistance, antimicrobial properties, increased durability, or improved adhesion between layers. The technologies explored are at the forefront of scientific knowledge and prioritize environmentally friendly processes, without the use of water and with less environmental impact.
